StemSplit
Privacy policy
Last updated 11 October 2026
StemSplit splits songs into separate parts (vocals, drums, bass and more). This policy explains what data the app uses, why, and how long it is kept. StemSplit has no accounts and no ads, and we never sell your data.
What we collect and why
•
Songs you choose to split. The audio file you pick is uploaded so it can be separated, and the separated parts are stored so you can play and save them. We use these only to provide the service.
•
A device identifier. The app sends an ID that Android creates for this app on your device. We use it to count your free songs, to link a Premium subscription to your device, and to prevent abuse. It does not identify you by name.
•
Purchase information. If you buy Premium, Google Play handles the payment. We receive confirmation of your subscription (plan, start and expiry) through RevenueCat. We never see your card or payment details.
•
Network address (IP). Used briefly to stop the service being overloaded, for example by limiting how many songs one network can split per hour. These counters are deleted within hours.
•
How the app is used. Which screens you open and actions such as splitting a song, saving a mix or opening Premium, with your device identifier, phone model, Android version and approximate country (worked out from your network address). We use this to understand how StemSplit is used and to improve it. It doesn't include your songs, contacts or precise location.
Who processes your data
We use these service providers, only to run StemSplit:
•
fal.ai: stores your uploaded song and runs the separation. If you ask for lyrics, fal.ai also runs ElevenLabs' speech-to-text model on the song's vocals to write them.
•
RevenueCat and Google Play: process and record Premium subscriptions.
•
Upstash: stores free-song and usage counters linked to your device identifier.
•
Expo: hosts the StemSplit server.
•
PostHog: records how the app is used (see above), stored in the United States.
How long we keep it
•
Uploaded songs and separated parts are deleted automatically 7 days after upload.
•
Your free-song count is kept for as long as the app is in use, so that free songs can't be reset by reinstalling. Premium usage counts are kept for about one month.
•
Subscription records are kept by RevenueCat and Google Play while needed for billing and the law.
•
Usage data in PostHog is kept for up to one year.
Your choices
You decide which songs to upload. You can ask us to delete the data linked to your device at any time. See the Delete your data page in the app, or email info@mick.co.ke.
Children
StemSplit is intended for adults (18+) and is not directed at children.
Security
All data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS).
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above. Questions? Email info@mick.co.ke.
